You did it!
HB 137, our bill that would repeal “Gun Free Zone” policies in the State Capitol, City Hals, county buildings, and more passed the Senate today in a 20-10 vote!
Senator Von Flatern tried to undermine the bill with a hostile amendment.
He failed.
Senator Ellis tried to do the same thing.
She failed.
Your calls and emails insisting that the Senate refuse all hostile amendments were successful, despite a very organized effort by the anti-gun lobby to crush this bill!
And don’t think for a moment that this would have happened without your activism.
Don’t forget, this same Senate body killed “Campus Carry” legislation last week. This is the same Senate that has killed every pro-gun bill for the last five years in a row!
But not yesterday.
Yesterday, your voice was heard in the Wyoming Senate.
And we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that WyGo’s former Executive Director and now State Senator Anthony Bouchard fought all day long for gun owners on the Senate floor!
He fought against bad amendments, forced record roll call votes to put anti-gunners on the record, and led the charge on HB 137.
Gun owners should take a moment to thank Senator Bouchard by sending him a message via email to [email protected] or via his Facebook page!
But this fight isn’t over yet.
There was a technical amendment added to the bill today, which means that the House will have to vote on this one last time before it goes to the Governor’s desk.
We’re being told that this vote may take place as early as this morning!
That’s why I need you to contact your Representative one more time on HB 137 — and insist that he support the bill with no weakening amendments!

The bill did undergo a technical amendment, meaning that it’s going back to the House for a final vote — likely as early as tomorrow morning.
