I wish I could say I’m surprised.
But I’m not.
When Republicans start backing gun control bills — like FIX-NICS legislation — it sends a message to gun-grabbers that Wyoming might not be the pro-gun state that everyone thinks it is.
And when that happens, anti-gun lawmakers who normally are too afraid to open their mouths in Cheyenne, suddenly get emboldened, and start openly attacking our gun rights.
That’s exactly what is happening right now, as just yesterday, Senate Bill 80 was introduced in the legislature, a bill that mandates a 3-day waiting period before you can buy a handgun!
This is madness, as it only means that the very people who need to buy a handgun (think of a woman who is in fear of a dangerous stalker) would be unable to do so because of state law!
But what makes this bill even more shocking, is the knowledge that among the bill’s chief sponsors, is Republican State Representative Dan Furphy!
Furphy is part of a growing number of Republicans in Cheyenne who have nothing but contempt for proud gun owners in Wyoming; the only difference is that Furphy isn’t afraid to demonstrate that openly.
Remember, it was moderate Republican Governor Mead who vetoed our bill to repeal deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ here in Wyoming, in 2017.
It was moderate Republicans who voted down every gun bill in the state last session, in both chambers, including our bill to fix the issues with Wyoming’s pre-emption problem.
It is moderate Republicans who are leading the charge for dangerous FIX-NICS gun control legislation right now, that would empower liberal judges to deny you your gun rights without a criminal conviction of any kind.
And now moderate Republicans are joining with the radical left in Cheyenne to attempt to advance blatant gun control legislation!
Remember, these bills are being filed for a reason.
They are trying to gauge the resolve of gun owners like you and me — to see if we’ll just sit back and relax — or if we will stand up and fight back when bills like this are filed!
So please take action immediately, using our automated system.
These arrogant lawmakers work for us, proud gun owners who support the Second Amendment, our flag, our great state and our President.
But they like to forget that once they are safely ensconced in the Capitol in Cheyenne.
WYGO will remind them, but we need your help to do it!
You see, this is why Wyoming Gun Owners is the most hated lobby organization in the state by smug insiders, because we are not afraid to call a spade and spade.
And we’re not afraid to name names.
But we’re only as powerful as our members. So please take action today, by firing off your emails as soon as possible!
