Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Wyoming Gun Owners!
As we all pause and take a moment to consider how blessed we are to live in a country with so much freedom and room to determine our own destiny — I know I’m just a little more thankful than normal this year.
After the state legislature was able to block the advancement of any pro-gun legislation for over five years, Wyoming enacted an historic Stand-Your-Ground law in 2018!
Make no mistake.
Governor Mead didn’t make that victory happen; far from it.
And no one lawmaker made that happen, either.
The reason that Wyoming became the 36th Stand-Your-Ground state, and the real reason that I am so thankful this year, is because of the members of Wyoming Gun Owners.
The consistent pressure that you poured into Cheyenne, in the form of emails and phone calls and personal visits with your lawmakers, is why we are a Stand-Your-Ground state!
When state after state enacted gun control in 2018, in the wake of the Parkland, FL shooting, Wyoming expanded Second Amendment freedom — a shining example to gun owners everywhere.
Thank you for standing up for the Second Amendment!
Next session promises to be another big one in the fight for our gun rights.
With a new Governor and legislative leaders ready to push to end ‘Gun Free Zones,’ the pieces are lining up, but it’s going to be a battle.
So please enjoy time with family and friends today celebrating Thanksgiving, but also re-commit yourself to fighting for our Second Amendment freedoms in 2019!
