I just wanted to let you know that the timeline for your legislative candidates to complete their 2018 Gun Rights Candidate Questionnaire is coming to a close.
The deadline to complete this survey is a week from today.
Remember, every candidate in Wyoming claims to be a supporter of the Second Amendment during election time.
But the rubber really meets the road once candidates are elected and safely in office for a two or four term and under pressure to weaken pro-gun bills or advance ‘reasonable’ gun control.
And today, with our gun rights being betrayed by ‘pro-gun friends’ in states like Florida, Oklahoma, Iowa and more –- getting candidates on the record has never been more important.
While we did advance our gun rights last session, there is much work to be done, especially when it comes to doing away with deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ here in Wyoming.
More, some are calling for passage of the ‘Red Flags Gun Seizure’ bill being passed in other states, which allows you to lose your gun rights via an ex-parte hearing and before you have ever 6been convicted of a crime!
So with the primary elections right around the corner, it’s time for your legislative candidates to put up or shut up.
Either they are willing to fight for gun owners and put that commitment in writing as many candidates already have — or they are just talking the talk.
It’s that simple.
Remember, you can help us run this program in the following ways:
First, print off a copy of the survey and give it to all candidates seeking to represent you in the legislature.
(Remember, you’ll hear many excuses from them as to why they do not want to fill it out. Don’t fall for them!)
Second, make a quick contribution of $25 to help us broadcast the results of our survey program once it is complete.
Third, make sure your friends and family are aware of our results page, where we show gun owners which candidates are willing to go on the record and which ones are not!
Remember, when a politician assures you and I that they are 100% pro-gun but refuse to fill out a simple 9 question survey, alarm bells should go off in your mind.
‘Pro-gun Republicans’ in Florida betrayed gun owners earlier this year, when they passed the largest gun control bill in Florida history.
Similar betrayals took place in Oklahoma, Minnesota, Ohio and Iowa.
So the time for taking candidates at their word is over!
