While we are fighting to crush Senator Von Flatern’s FIX-NICS gun control bill in Cheyenne, that’s only part of the fight that we are engaged in.
You see, while we have one week to kill off FIX-NICS legislation, we also have just one week to make sure that our legislation to repeal deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ gets referred to a committee, as well. As you’ll likely recall from last session, our bill would eliminate ‘Gun Free Zones’ in government (taxpayer funded) buildings as well as address the growing issues with Wyoming’s pre-emption statue. This legislation was filed last session with the support of over thirty lawmakers, but was killed in the Judiciary Committee in the House and Senate. But this is an election year. Do legislative moderates want to vote against your gun rights two years in a row, headed into an election cycle? Now is your chance to crank up the heat in support of this legislation, to rid our state of deadly ‘Gun Free Zones,’ and find out which lawmakers will fight for gun owners! Our state is very much at a crossroads. Are we going to sit back and allow moderates to continue to hammer away at our freedoms until we turn into the next Colorado? Or will we stand up and fight back, demanding that our lawmakers in Cheyenne stop playing games with the Second Amendment?
