That was the Washington Post’s recent attempt to explain why anti-gun Democrat Mary Throne is suddenly surging in Wyoming’s governor race.
The fact is, with time running out until the November elections, races from the State House all the way to Governor are tightening by the day.
Gun-grabbers are more emboldened than ever. They believe they have the momentum — both nationally and here in Wyoming.
With time running out until Tuesday, November 6, I’m counting on your IMMEDIATE action.

Instead, with time so short, Wyoming Gun Owners will do all that we can to ensure each and every one of BILLIONAIRE Michael Bloomberg’s handpicked candidates are EXPOSED!
Once you review Mary Throne’s record as a State Legislator, you can easily see why the Gun Control Lobby wants to install her in our Governor’s Mansion.
Every time she’s had the chance, she’s voted in lockstep with the gun-grabbers’ radical agenda, including:
*** Voting against “Gun Free Zone” Repeal, (H.B. 114, 2/2/2015,) which would have repealed so-called “Gun Free Zones” in state government buildings across Wyoming and gone a long way to making our citizens safer;
*** Voting against Campus Carry, (H.B. 105, 2/1/13,) which would have allowed for the carrying of concealed handguns on school property, including college campuses;
*** Voting against Constitutional Carry, (S.F. 47, 2/25/11,) this landmark bill ensured Wyoming Gun Owners don’t have to go through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole just to exercise their Second Amendment freedoms to carry a firearm.
The good news is, her opponent, GOP Governor candidate Mark Gordon, answered his Wyoming Gun Owners Survey in 100% support of gun rights.
If elected, Mark Gordon has pledged to oppose so-called “Red Flag” Gun Seizures, “assault weapons” bans, magazine bans, “Universal Background Checks” (AKA STATEWIDE GUN REGISTRATION,) and much more.
Of course, you and I know our statewide media won’t mention any of this . . .
They know the vast majority of Wyoming citizens strongly support our Second Amendment freedoms and oppose the radical gun control schemes Mary Throne supports.
So if they say anything at all about Mary Throne’s views on gun rights, they’ll just say, she “opposes gun violence.” Or maybe they’ll praise her for being “committed to bipartisan gun reform.”
That’s why, with so much on the line this election year, you and I can’t leave anything to chance.
I’m not going to pretend that Wyoming Gun Owners has millions of dollars in the bank to compete with BILLIONAIRE gun-grabbers like former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and George Soros.
They’re going to UNLOAD their war chests this election year in their mad rush to turn Wyoming into the next Colorado!
And they don’t even need a complete takeover of the State Legislature — or our Governor’s Mansion — to do it.
Just a few state legislative wins here and there could tip the scales.
You see, while the gun-grabbers have always preferred to install anti-gun Democrats whenever possible, they know Republicans they can “work with” are often even more valuable.
That way they can sell the worst of their schemes as “bipartisan” and “just common sense.”
And when they get their few bad apples on key committees or in our Governor’s office, the Gun Control Lobby can halt progress on virtually any pro-gun bill — just like they did when Governor Matt Mead vetoed our “Gun Free Zone” Repeal Bill last year!
Then, they simply bide their time for the next shooting like Parkland, Florida to grease the skids for their entire anti-gun agenda including:
>>> So-called “Red Flag” Orders (A.K.A. GUN CONFISCATION ORDERS) to strip law-abiding Wyomingites of their Second Amendment rights with ZERO due process!
That means you could lose your guns just because you tick off a bitter ex-spouse or anger a left-wing neighbor with a Facebook post;
>>> So-called “Universal Background Checks.”
This has long been tops on Bloomberg’s agenda. That’s because the only way to enforce this scheme is to track, trace and register every gun and gun owner in the state;
And you and I both know registration is the first step toward OUTRIGHT confiscation!
>>> Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground Repeal.
Passage of these two reforms have bolstered Wyoming’s reputation as one of the most gun friendly states in the country — something gun-grabbers desperately want to END.
That’s why your support today to help Wyoming Gun Owners EXPOSE the gun-grabbers has never been more important.
Wyoming Gun Owners spent heavily in the primaries to separate the sheep from the goats.
And I don’t regret it for a minute.
