Today marks the opening of the 2017 legislative session and the start of the 64th Session of the General Assembly, which convened moments ago in Cheyenne.
That means that our chance to fight for the Second Amendment is officially underway!
Now is our chance to END the dozens of areas in Wyoming where you and I still can’t carry a defensive firearm because the area has been deemed “Gun Free.”
After all, does having a “Gun Free Zone” sign or disarming law-abiding citizens actually stop criminals?
No, of course not — we see this play out on the news time and time again.
In fact, thugs and terrorists almost always target these areas to carry out their deadly attacks.
Consider the following examples:
- June 12, 2016, a terrorist named Omar Mateen shot up the Orlando nightclub where guns were not allowed, killing 49 innocent people;
- December 2, 2015, two married terrorists, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, launched an attack at an office complex in San Bernardino, CA, where guns were not allowed, killing 14 innocent people;
- October 1, 2015, a deranged college student named Chris Mercer came into a classroom at the Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, OR, where guns are not allowed, and opened fire, killing 9 innocent people;
- June 17, 2015, a racist named Dylann Roof opened fire in a Charleston, SC church during a prayer service, an area specifically off-limits to guns, killing 9 innocent people.
That’s why as we gavel in the 2017 legislative session here in Cheyenne we hope that you’ll stand alongside us as we fight to repeal these deadly “Gun Free Zones” from Wyoming state code.
Because the fight to get rid of these dangerous zones in Wyoming begins right now!
Representative Bo Biteman has filed a bill to repeal these so-called “Gun Free Zones” — but now we need grassroots gun owners to get behind it and make sure everyone in Cheyenne knows this is a priority for us.
We need as many signatures as possible urging our Wyoming legislators — new and old — to stand up for the Second Amendment by repealing deadly “Gun Free Zones.”
Today is the first day of session, but it will be over before you know it.
It’s going to take constant, determined effort, and that’s exactly what Wyoming Gun Owners will be doing all session long.
But we need your help.
So please make sure to sign your petition and share it on Facebook.
Once you’re done, please renew your support in Wyoming Gun Owners for 2017 right away!
There’s no set membership fee, whatever amount you can afford will be greatly appreciated!
Either way, please sign your petition right away, that’s most important!
For Freedom,
David Ball
President
