I’ve got some news that might really tick you off.
You know the Cody Gun Museum? The place that’s supposed to celebrate our heritage, our history, and our love for firearms?
Well, it seems like they’ve taken a turn down Woke Avenue. Yes, you heard right. There’s now a “No Guns Allowed” sign hanging right at their front door!
(A WYGO member in Cody sent us this picture, showing us that the Cody Gun Museum is now off limits to gun owners! Insane!)
Now, let’s talk reality here.
What do we know about “Gun Free Zones?” They’re like a magnet for violent criminals looking to hurt innocent people. Time and again, when a bad guy attacks, it happens where guns are banned.
Why? Because the criminals, they don’t care about signs or laws.
But guess who does? Law-abiding citizens like us. And where does that leave us? Defenseless, that’s where.
This isn’t just about a museum policy; this is about our culture, our values, and our Wyoming way of life. Wyoming isn’t just known for its wide-open spaces; it’s known for its freedom-loving spirit.
And it’s about hypocrisy.
Think about it. The Cody Gun Museum, a place where every exhibit tells a story of freedom, of pioneering spirit, and of self-reliance, now says gun owners aren’t welcome!
It’s like a history museum banning books or a music hall silencing instruments. It’s not just illogical; it’s against everything we stand for.
And here’s where you come in. WYGO members need to stand up, not just for our rights, but for the very soul of what Wyoming represents. This isn’t about picking a fight; it’s about preserving our heritage. We can’t let this slide.
I urge each and every one of you to pick up the phone and dial 307-587-4771. That’s the number for Rebecca West, the CEO of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, where the Cody Gun Museum sits.
Politely, but firmly, let her know how you feel.
Tell her that a “No Guns Allowed” sign at the Cody Gun Museum doesn’t just affect gun owners’ rights; it’s a slap in the face to Wyoming’s cultural identity.
Remind her that this policy doesn’t make the museum safer; it makes it a target.
Our state has always been about living free, making our own choices, and carrying if we feel the need to. That sign isn’t just a piece of metal or plastic; it’s a symbol of a shift away from who we are!
Let’s be clear, this isn’t about causing trouble. It’s about sending a message that in Wyoming, we respect our history, we uphold our freedoms, and we stand united. If we let this pass, what’s next?
So, here’s what I’m asking you to do:
So again, please call Rebecca West at 307-587-4771. Tell her that you want that stupid sign removed from the front door.
Then spread the word. Tell your fellow Wyomingites, your friends, your family. Let’s make our voice heard loud and clear.
Remember, this isn’t just about us keeping our guns; it’s about keeping our way of life, our legacy, and our freedoms intact. Let’s not let the Cody Gun Museum be the start of a slippery slope away from what Wyoming stands for.
Together, we can make a difference. Let’s show them that in Wyoming, when we say we’re free, we mean it.
Stay vigilant, stay proud, and stay Wyoming.
For Wyoming,
