Imagine getting a call from a neighbor while you’re at work, who tells you that a sheriff’s department SWAT Team forced their way into your home and is currently carrying your rifles, shotguns, and handguns (along with your ammo) out of your house and into a waiting police transport vehicle.
When you rush home to see what’s going on, the authorities tell you that you’ve been ‘red flagged’ by the courts, and that a judge has signed an order mandating the seizure of every firearm you own!
As your neighbors stare at you from up and down the street, you feel a sense of anger and total confusion, knowing that you’ve never been arrested or convicted of anything — let alone a felony that would result in you losing your guns.
Much later you find out that you were ‘red flagged’ after your bitter ex-spouse phoned in a complaint against you just because she wants to destroy you –- and knowing that you have firearms in your house — she was able to paint you as ‘dangerous’ before a judge.
And thanks to the ex-parte proceedings that accompany these ‘red flag’ laws in almost every case, the hearing where the judge made his decision was conducted in secret! So your ex was able to say whatever she wanted to a judge, but you were not allowed to defend yourself at all!
Had you been accused of running a stop sign you could have gone before a judge with a lawyer and pleaded your innocence. You could cross examine the officer, ask to see the in-car camera video feed, provided evidence to back up your claim, even request a jury trial!
But your God-given and constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms can be stripped from you through secret court hearings by a bitter ex and a liberal judge who hates the Second Amendment.
This is the terrifying reality for gun owners in states with ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ laws, and if Joe Biden has his way, every gun owner in America may soon be living under the constant threat of being ‘red flagged’ and losing your firearms before you have been convicted of anything!
That’s why I hope that you will immediately sign the petition that we have prepared for you, telling Senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis (and Liz Cheney) to stop trying to ‘make a deal’ with Joe Biden and to do everything they can to shut ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation down!
It’s critical that you take action right away.
The Senate Judiciary Sub-Committee has already held the necessary public hearing on ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation and the full Committee may take up this legislation at any moment!
But as you sign your petition, I want to make sure you have the full context on what’s happening in Congress right now when it comes to Joe Biden’s war against law abiding gun owners.
The truth is that I have some bad news, but also some good news.
The good news is that Joe Biden is having a real problem trying to pass his national gun owner registry (H.R. 8) or Senator Dianne Feinstein’s ‘assault weapons ban’ (S. 736) — which would ban the sale of AR-15’s and hundreds of other rifles, shotguns and pistols.
Biden needs 60 votes to pass a ‘cloture motion,’ the procedural motion that is required to end debate before any bill can move to the Senate floor for a full vote. And despite all of Chuck Schumer’s blustering, he simply doesn’t have 60 votes for cloture when it comes to H.R. 8 or S. 736!
In fact, Schumer may not even have the support of all 50 Senate Democrats for these bills as vulnerable Senate Democrats STILL remember what happened to their party after they passed Bill Clinton’s ban on AR-15’s in 1994.
The bad news is that Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer are turning to ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ as a consolation prize for the Bloomberg-funded gun control organizations that put them in power last year.
With multiple Republican Senators openly supporting this legislation already, Schumer knows that it would be much easier to pass ‘Red Flags’ than H.R. 8 or S. 736 — and it would allow Senate Democrats to use the bill’s ‘bi-partisan’ support as political cover during next year’s election cycle.
And if Schumer passes ‘Red Flags’ in the Senate and Biden signs it into law (Pelosi would pass it in the House immediately) that would give the gun-grabbers the shot of momentum they need to redouble their efforts to pass the rest of their gun control agenda!
So if gun owners can stand tall now and defeat ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ from advancing, we will very likely be able to defeat Joe Biden’s national gun registry and the ‘assault weapons’ ban at the same time!
In many ways, the fate of ‘Red Flag’ laws may be decided by John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis.
As Senators in very pro-gun state, they can either hold the line for freedom and set the tone for other Republicans in the Senate — or they could agree to a compromise deal on ‘Red Flags’ (like John Thune and Marco Rubio did) and pave the way for a monumental betrayal.
Make no mistake, while passage of a national ‘Red Flag’ law is a secondary objective for Joe Biden and his allies, it would be nothing short of a disaster for law abiding gun owners in America.
That’s because if passed into law, ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ would destroy the idea of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ and would obliterate our due process rights by:
>>> Allowing a judge to order the confiscation of every firearm you own using secret ex-parte court hearings that you know nothing about, and before you’ve been convicted of a crime!
The first time you’ll know that your gun rights have been suspended and that the government is coming to seize your firearms is when government agents enter your home.
>>> Redefining the types of ‘evidence’ that can be used against you in these secret court proceedings, allowing the complainant to use the mere fact that you own a firearm as evidence against you!
I can hardly think of anything more disgusting, more un-American, than using our own Constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms as inherent evidence against us in these sham hearings.
>>> Weaponizing the judicial system against gun owners by allowing people bringing these bogus complaints forward to obtain free help from government lawyers in filing the complaint!
Good luck ever getting a judge to agree to lift the ‘Red Flag’ against you and give you your firearms back when it was a local prosecutor and judge who worked hand in hand to strip you of your firearms in the first place!
>>> Allowing the same judge who issued the gun seizure order against you in the first place to extend it unilaterally!
Depending on the final language, ‘Red Flag’ laws would allow a judge to order that the gun seizure order remain in effect for an additional year by holding another sham hearing! In other words, you may never regain your gun rights!
Joe Biden and the radical left are doing everything they can to guilt gun owners into supporting this legislation, as though somehow it’s our fault that violent criminals commit murder with a firearm.
But make no mistake, passing a national ‘Red Flag’ law wouldn’t stop violent criminals, it wouldn’t even slow them down! Anyone who is evil enough to commit murder would have no problem stealing a firearm first!
The real objective of ‘Red Flags’ laws is simple: they allow an anti-gun judge to bypass our due process rights and the whole concept of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ and disarm countless gun owners — without having to bother to convict them of a crime first!
That’s why it’s vital that you SIGN YOUR OFFICIAL PETITION in opposition to any form of ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation, so that Senators Barrasso and Lummis know that you are 100% opposed to this!
