The Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) has been filed in Cheyenne by Wyoming’s gun rights champion, State Senator Anthony Bouchard.
Known as Senate File 81, our SAPA legislation will shut down Joe Biden’s gun control agenda here in Wyoming by requiring Wyoming’s peace officers to ONLY enforce Wyoming law where firearms, ammunition, and accessories are concerned!
In other words, a federal AR-15 ban would fall flat on its face here in Wyoming.
So would a national gun registry, a ban on magazines that hold over ten rounds of ammo, mental health tests for gun owners, and anything else that the radical left tries to pass into law in D.C.!
This is how we hold the line against federal gun control and safeguard our freedoms here in Wyoming for the next generation! But it’s not going to happen if the Senate doesn’t pass S.F. 81.

The good news is that unlike previous versions of this legislation that claimed to provide protection to gun owners here in Wyoming but didn’t, WYGO’s legislation has real TEETH!
So if a government agent violates your gun rights by enforcing a federal gun control law — in violation of Wyoming’s SAPA law — you could take him and his department’s right to civil court!
This is how we hold the line against federal gun control and safeguard our freedoms here in Wyoming for the next generation! But it’s not going to happen if the Senate doesn’t pass H.F. 81.
That’s why it’s urgent that you send the PRE-WRITTEN EMAIL that we have prepared for you to right away, telling your State Senator to publicly champion and vote for SAPA legislation!
The truth is that anti-gun moderates are already talking about teaming up with radical leftists in the State Senate to tank this legislation!
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time.
Last year, moderates killed legislation that would end deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ while pushing for FIX-NICS mental health gun control and more before WYGO members shut them down hard!
Your grassroots pressure will remind the politicians in Cheyenne that gun owners want to see action on this legislation right away, and that we will hold them responsible if they block this legislation.
And this isn’t an idle threat, considering what happened during the 2020 primaries here in Wyoming.
Former State Senator Michael Von Flatern thought gun owners wouldn’t care that he was pushing for aggressive gun control legislation in Cheyenne, until WYGO members booted him out of office by a humiliating margin of 63.4%-36.3%!
Former State Representative Bill Pownall hoped that gun owners wouldn’t find out that he was the lead sponsor on gun control in the House last year. Thanks to WYGO, gun owners did find out, and they booted Pownall out of office in a stunning 50.4%-29.6% defeat!
Former State Representative Dan Kirkbride arrogantly believed that he could ram FIX-NICS through his Judiciary Committee and that no one would care. He, too, was wrong. And on election day, was shown the door by angry gun owners who had had enough.
